how to tips & tricks for oily hair...
You can deal with hair that gets oily quickly in several ways. Sometimes the first step is simply correcting the shampoo and conditioner you use on a daily basis. The thing you need to consider is that we are usually treating the scalp and the hair at the same time. It's important to use a combination of products that won't exacerbate the problem. Bumble & bumble seaweed shampoo and conditioner or Bb. thickening shampoo and conditioner are both great combinations that have gentle cleansing with a lighter conditioner. When using a conditioner, make sure you are applying it from the mid-shaft of your hair through the ends. It's not terrible if conditioner gets on your scalp. It's just better if you do your best not to apply it there.
The shampoo that will make the biggest difference is Bb. tonic. Anyone who has color on their hair should use Bb. tonic shampoo only once a week. If you don't have color on your hair, depending on the severity of the oil issue, you can use it every other day alternating with your daily shampoo and conditioner. On your tonic shampoo days, you will simply replace your daily shampoo with it and continue with your daily conditioner, applying it to the midshaft and ends of your hair. Once you start using Bb. tonic shampoo, you should notice results within the first several weeks of your regime change.
Sometimes you need a product that can give you immediate results. If you have longer hair, a great product to use when you notice a little oiliness at the scalp is Bb. hair powder. This gives you instant gratification by spraying it at your scalp from about 7 inches away. (You don't want to be too close to your scalp when spraying or it may not look great.) Bb. hair powder is a dry shampoo with a little color so it quickly absorbs any oils on the scalp and hair. Spray it through your part or anywhere else you need it. Lightly rub it into your roots and scalp. Bb. hair powder will give you a little lift and make the slick look go away. It will give a matte finish to your roots, taking away the shininess. Consult with your stylist to find the perfect color match for your hair.
The other thing to remember when dealing with an oily scalp is that you should be shampooing every day. Keeping your hair and scalp clean is really important to keeping the oiliness under control. If you are one of those people who prefers not to shampoo every day due to the length or thickness of your hair or your dread of having to blow your hair dry again, that's okay. Get on a regime of shampooing with Bb. tonic every third time and make sure to use Bb. hair powder as needed.
